Pan burnt Granite

I just bought a new home with Granite (http://tanbrown.org) . We took a pan out of the oven abd put it directly on the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) and (http://maplered.com) it left a permanent dark mark. If we put anything wet on the Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) it leaves a temporary dark mark. The Granite (http://tanbrown.org) also has a lot of little chips oon it. Is there anything I can fill them with? The installer told us that all those things are normal and (http://maplered.com) we shouldn't put hot things on it. I think they don't want to replace it. They also used a something red to mark where they were going to cut it and (http://maplered.com) the red line won't come out.
